A new way to sense plant stress

In our new VLAIO innovation mandate, we will further develop our patented plant motion sensor into a new product for smart farming. We aim to use this real-time leaf movement sensor to detect plant stress. This wireless prototype will be tested in commercial greenhouse environments, to monitor plant health, and link changes in plant movements with putative stressful situations. This will enable farmers to use a new digital sensor for steering their production, and improve their crop cultivation in a sustainable way.
